Staying at Homeless Shelter Tonight

I did connect with my friend and got some cash.
I had transferred it to his Pay Pal account.
He transferred it to his bank account.
That will take some days to clear.
But he brought the much needed funds plus he gave generously.

I have a very limited cash budget.
I research much online for motel rooms.
The ones listed at 35 on the first day are actually 50 dollars with the fees.
There are plenty of motel rooms at 50 to 60 dollars.
Motel 6 has the most.

A friend recommended that I consider Dallas Life Foundation.
It is a Christian homeless shelter near downtown Dallas.
I looked on the website.
It says the first 5 days are free.
Then it is 10 dollars a night.
I went there to save money.

I arrived at 430.
That is when the start to take new people.
They took my driver’s license and did a background check.
That passed then the next step was to go stand in line.

A man was taking all the clothes of the new residents.
They were put into huge yellow laundry bags with holes.
Those will go into the dryer at a high temperature.
The purpose is to keep people from bringing in bed bugs.

No one was allowed to bring in towels.
So I had to surrender them a the door.
Then I went in the main door.
There was a security check of me and my things that were not clothes.

Then I learned they charge 25 dollars charge for my laptop.
It is for the use of the electricity.
That hurt the savings a lot.

These are typical homeless people that you see on the streets.
I was concerned about the safety of my laptop tonight.
So I asked if I could go and come back.
I need to be back before 800.

My thought was to go to the bus station.
Many years ago they had lockers there.
My plan was to leave my laptop in the locker over night.
When I got to the bus station I discovered there are zero lockers.

So I got a huge bag from CVS to help hide what it is from others.

Please pray for the security of the laptop tonight and the rest of this adventure.
Pray for my health and safety while in the shelter.
I had not mentioned before but I have had minor ear aches for many weeks.
And my sinuses have been more runny than normal.
May God protect me from infections.

I called the missionary housing today.
I had left and forgot a few clothes in the closet.
I asked about openings.
There are opening sooner than before.
I reserved from this coming Monday until the next Monday.
That 45 dollars is a huge bargain.
That total need is 45 times 7 equals 315 dollars.
Pray for God to guide me in raising those funds.

And in the meanwhile what I can use is a person to sponsor 1 or 2 nights at Motel 6.
They can call in their credit or debit card.

Today is was very hot in Dallas and I was outside walking much.
Several times I got very sweaty.
I hope to get my hair cut very short tomorrow.
Hopefully that will help keep me cooler.

Thanks again for each of your prayers.
If you feel God leading you to help with my housing then let me know.

Shalom
