Jesus Help My Unbelief

  • The father asked Jesus to help his unbelief in Mark 9:24.
  • He believed by his unbelief was the obstacle.
  • Here is my current condition today. I visited the dental student that began to make the adjustments on my new dentures. I will see her again about one time a week for 4 weeks before I walk out with my dentures.
  • Many years ago I privately prayed untold numbers of prayers for dentures when most of my teeth were not good.
  • Then I invited others to pray for me. God provided the funds for my first set of dentures 4 years ago.
  • Then 17 teeth were extracted.
  • At that time I had 7 remaining lower teeth in the front. But they got bad.
  • The upper denture got chipped.
  • I prayed and others prayed.
  • God provided the funds for this new set of dentures.
  • My last 7 teeth were extracted.
  • I could not have seen her today unless my account was current.
  • By the grace of God He provided those funds.
  • I just finished an intense week of helping a missionary family in crisis.
  • Much prayer was requested and the money came to meet the needs.
  • Here I sit with those testimonies and yet part of my heart doubts that God will provide my needs.
  • When I visited the dentist today I walked in this heat 40 minutes each way because I could not afford the train fare.
  • To put a point on it I was a dime short of having enough to buy a soda an hour ago.
  • There is just 5 dollars in my bank account and a hope of a small income tomorrow.
  • I read in a fund raising book long ago that George Mueller never asked for money but God provided for his orphanage.
  • The article went on to say the D L Moody let the needs be known but did not ask.
  • Then it said that Bill Bright of Campus Crusade asked for prayers and asked for donations.
  • I wish I could just pray and the money would arrive. I have met a few faith based missionaries that have lived like that.
  • I have attempted to just list my needs but I have found that I also need to ask.
  • Asking takes a measure of humility, courage and boldness.
  • The reality is that not everyone that is asked will give.
  • That can hurt some but I must keep moving forward.
  • So let me here list my current needs for your best prayers.
  • 25 dollars their fee to keep laptop in shelter for a month
  • 25 dollars sturdy reading glasses
  • 15 dollars generic dayquil for head cold that comes and goes
  • Also I need shoes for the ones I have are a little too small.
  • I will need a cell phone soon. The current one is gradually getting worse.
  • I have other personal needs too but I feel too bad to recognize them

  • As God is using me to create a fundraising system for Bill Metz family and ministry I expect that will work well and I will apply the knowledge I have gained over the years to my life.
  • Just as he needs an executive committee so I need some accountability partners.
  • Just as he needs monthly donors so do I.
  • What he has to offer to attract and retain new supporters is testimonies of how God transformed lives.
  • What I have to offer is a steady stream of lessons that are bottled up in my heart, mind and notes.
  • Please pray earnestly for God to meet my immediate needs and put me on the path to launch a fundraising system for Bill Metz ministry and for mine.
  • May the Lord Jesus Christ improve and increase my faith in HIm.
  • May the unbelief dissolve.
  • May I rest in His provisions no matter what the external circumstances say.
  • Shalom
