Lease, Annual Physical and Start

Lease, Annual Physical and Start

LEASE
During the last update I mentioned that the owner of this apartment had raised my rent. I went to Dallas with my apartment manager, Darlene, to the housing authority office. The rent increase was approved and I was approved for another year for Section 8 Housing subsidy.

But then many weeks later my lease was coming up for renewal. Neither of us had received official paperwork. Both of us contacted the housing authority several times. Then I requested prayers. Shortly after that my case worker finally sent the official paperwork.

I had expected that my part of the rent would increase by 10 to 50 dollars. Yet it was decreased by 3 dollars. That was a blessing!

ANNUAL PHYSICAL
I turned 65 in April of this year. I registered for Medicare. Then 134 dollars was taken out of my monthly retirement income. My insurance agent connected me with a major insurance company and recommended that I apply for Medicaid. I was approved for both. One of the perks is an annual physical exam at no cost to me.

Thankfully I have been very healthy all my life. But at my age it seems prudent to run a battery of tests on my physical body each year. That will establish baselines and notice changes over time.

I contacted the office of a doctor that is about 1 mile from my home in early April. But here I am in early July and I have not yet seen the doctor. I did walk there and see a nurse who ran a few tests a month ago. I had contacted the office a few times to be told they will call me when they can fit me in. After  12 weeks my patience had reached my limit yesterday. I called a different doctors office and was offered the option of an appointment for a physical in 6 or 7 days.

I have written and posted a poor review of that doctors office several places online with a one star rating.

I was on the phone with the insurance company for 2 hours as they took detailed notes of what did and did not happen during the last 12 weeks.

Please pray for the blessings of God on my relationship with my new Primary Care Provider, Dr. Perrin. Her office is in Ferris Texas that is 18 miles north of my residence.

START
Most days I walk around the apartment complex in the morning and in the evening. During those times I pray and I enjoy nature. I often get inspirations that I write down on the paper I carry with me always. I also get inspirations at church, at home, and while shopping. Those notes go online in the various lists and mind maps. From that comes the tasks that I do and the content of my various writings. Over the decades I have learned to be consistent to capture and organize such ideas. I have prayed for wisdom in how to use these. I have learned to prioritize there.

The good news is that God has given me a creative imagination. One of my strengths is to design synergistic systems that solve complex Christian education problems. My many notes are centered around harnessing online communication technologies to teach, train, equip, support, and encourage Christians so that they will become reproducing disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a huge and complex vision with a game plan that will reach missionaries and indigenous workers overseas. Besides the rough sketch of the strategic plan I have been blessed as God has led me to take many online courses that have taught me the techie skills.

My current challenge is to be led of the Lord Jesus in how to get started. There are many moving parts that must be working to launch the MOOC to the public on the first of September. I request for you to ask God to grant me His wisdom from above. May God guide me in how to start this month so that there will be some momentum for August.

I admit that my fears of rejection and failure have kept me stuck in excessive planning in the past. I can feel those present these days. May God grant me courage to take bold action steps to break the ice soon.

After it has started then I will make changes as needed.

Shalom
John
