Detoxing, Journaling, and Dancing


DETOXING
This is day 7 of a 7-day detox. There is just 1 more set of tablets. I will be glad when this is done. I have been feeling weak and weary. I have visited the bathroom far more often than normal. Surely lots of bad stuff left my body.

About twice a year has lots of gas or I feel like an overstuffed doll. So I detox to reset my body.

Long ago I learned about the importance of taking care of my colon. I have used different methods before and I do not plan to use this method again.


JOURNALING
It seems that God wants me to make journaling a top priority at this season. Both of the online courses are pointing me in that direction with great questions and exercises.

Plus I had been going to the Workaholics Anonymous website where I found their online literature http://www.workaholics-anonymous.org/literature that sparked journaling.

God led me to this workbook by Workaholics Anonymous http://www.workaholics-anonymous.org/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=51 that I recently ordered. The person that recommended it has been getting great results.


DANCING
The good news is that I have been walking around the property most days in the early morning and in the late evening.

The bad news is that is all the exercise I usually get.

Long ago I did some yoga and some Tai Chi. But I did not stick with either of those.

In recent years I did some Qi Gong. It is like Tai Chi. It involves gentle movements. But I did not stick with that.

Mostly boredom blocked me from making those a healthy habit.

Then by the grace of God, I was introduced to 5 Rhythms  https://www.5rhythms.com/  by Gabrielle Roth. It is a semi-structured way to move the body using dance movements in a sequence. That sequence is flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness.

I have watched many Youtube videos by Gabrielle Roth and those she has trained. It appeals to me deeply. But so far I have failed to do it at home alone.

As you may know, I like to move my body when I worship God during congregational singing. The Bible says to Praise the name of the Lord with dance in Psalm 143:3 and Psalm 150:4.

What you might not know is that during my junior and senior years of high school I was a dance instructor at a country club. The woman that taught the dance moves needed a few males and females that knew the steps to demonstrate and help the new students. I enjoyed those experiences.


PRAYER
Please pray for the ongoing health of my body. And may God guide me in suitable ways to detox each time in the future.

Pray for me to optimize my time when journaling. I know that going deep and wide when writing in my journals it is super therapeutic. I have a spiral notebook for each online course. But I find myself too busy to write in those as much as I would like. This season of intense journaling will pass. So I want to get the most out of it.

Pray for me to start to take baby steps to learn and consistently dance the 5 rhythms. Intuitively I believe it will be good for me to move my body in those manners of creative expression. And some of the videos say that it is like a meditation that calms the mind.
