My Health Update for August 20, 2019

Dr. Perrin

I have an appointment to see you 8-28.

Meanwhile here is an update on my health. And I request your best prayers.

It is my best guess that the keto diet is causing my liver to detox and heal. That is why the symptoms have come and gone for weeks.

All other parts of my life are just the same as before I started the keto diet.

Some of this is complicated by aging so that my body does not respond to challenges as fast as it did.

These challenges include my jaw, rash, cramps in legs, constipation, sinuses, cough, eyes, wrist, and sitting.

JAW
This morning while reading I felt a sharp pain on the left side of my head in front of my ear.

It was the first time this had happened.

I went to Youtube to find the acupressure points to relieve the pain and that worked.

Note that I had not been chewing for about 12 hours because I had been on the internment fast so I  skipped breakfast.

For the last few days when I did chew, I avoided the left side as much as possible. That is because several weeks ago I was eating some soft food when I felt that part of my jaw hurt suddenly. A minor pain followed. It came and went for days. I had hoped and prayed that it would heal itself. It would go away for days and then return.

It is not like if I hurt my elbow and I can put my arm in a sling.

It is not like if I hurt my ankle so I can wrap it with an Ace bandage.

How can I help my jaw heal? I do chew a few times a day on things like chicken that I dice up with a knife. Shall I use the blender and go on a liquid diet too?

Note that I am still on the keto diet. I have been experiencing all sorts of symptoms that I will list here. So my body is not operating in an optimal way. Therefore what aids that could be in my blood to repair that part of my jaw is not present. I have been researching nutritional supplements for this and other matters. I invite your recommendations.

Even as I wrote this part that morning I was having a headache at the top of my head. I rarely have had headaches all my life.

RASH
I have been coping with the rash on my fingers as well as my arms and legs. This appears suddenly on different spots each time. Taking a sip of the liquid bentonite clay helps that pain to go away pretty soon. That works for me better than lotions or Tea Tree Oil.

CRAMPS
There have been different cramps in my legs as I sleep. Often it will start behind the kneecap on the tendon. Sometimes it hurts up to my buttocks and down to my ankle. I wake up to massage and stretch it.

CONSTIPATION
There has been mild constipation. Dr. Berg recommends eating 6 to 8 cups of salad daily. I started with 1 or 2 cups but my full dentures do not chew salads well. Daily chia seed in water has helped. And I will soon get psyllium seed husk powder that helped me better in the past.

SINUSES
Some nights there is an abundance of mucus. I have had a minor postnasal drip for decades. But since I have been on the keto diet I have experienced a huge amount of mucus in my sinuses in the middle of the night. I would wake up to pee 2 or 3 times a night and my head was super stuffy. Some nights I had trouble breathing. I would use saline mist, vitamin C and lemon water. That helps some.  I have on my Amazon Wishlist bed wedge and Himalayan pink salt inhaler.

COUGH
Every so often I will have a mild cough. It is an irritation in the back of my throat. I use Sambucus Elderberry cough syrup form Vitacost. And that knocks it right out.

EYES
During the early weeks on the keto diet, there was sticky gunk that gathered on my eyelashes during the day and night. A friend that is an eye doctor recommended the eye drops over the counter called Zaditor. I put 1 or 2 drops in each eye once or twice per day and the gunk does not appear.

Yet there are other irritations. Most often a hard deposit on the outer corners of my eyes one or two times a day. Plus other irritations. So I use Systane Complete about 3 times a day in both eyes.

Additionally, I wash my eyes with water using the Sabre eye wash adapter from Amazon.

SITTING
I lost weight on my belly so my pants are much looser. Yet thankfully I have an elastic belt.

Evidently, I lost weight from my bottom and thighs. Sitting in the desk chair hurts like it did not before. I have an orthopedic desk chair cushion on the Wish List.

WRIST
Some days my right wrist hurts more than other days as I use the computer mouse. So on the Wish List, I have a cordless vertical computer mouse that will take the strain off my wrist.

NECK
I am at my computer most of my waking hours. That can be 12 or more hours.

I find myself leaning forward to operate the computer mouse. This puts a strain on my neck so that it is sometimes stiff in the evenings.

So I put an armrest mouse pad so that I do not need to lean forward all the time.

ZONE
And I want to get my life better organized so that I will carve out many two hour blocks of time for writing related to the online business I plan to start this fall. I want to get into the zone of creative flow without my wrist, bottom, neck, or other symptoms to interrupt my focus.

PRAYERS
Soon I will make an appeal to find sponsors for the items on my Amazon Wish List.

Please pray for God to guide me in the asking and the receiving.

Here is that list for your best prayers.
