Where Will I Sleep Tonight?

I spent the last 3 nights at a Motel 6.

Here I am just past noon on July 14 and I do not know where I will sleep tonight.

God has given me amazing peace about this.

God has opened doors right on time for 3 weeks.

My Good Shepherd promised to not leave nor forsake me.

I have less than 10 dollars again.

But I trust God will provide my need for shelter.

There had been strong indications that the Marriot connection would happen today.

But there has been another delay.

I will learn more about that timing this evening.

When that happens then housing will not be a challenge for me.

I did make progress on making the Power Point slide shows that will become videos.

I made several recordings in my motel room.

But they failed to upload to You Tube.

Maybe the motel does not have a strong enough connection.

At this moment I am writing this at a public area of the community college downtown.

It is noisy here so I want to find a quiet and private place to record short videos.

I attempted to upload a test video I made in the motel room.

But it did not work here.

I used the same process I had used before at my apartment for years.

Then I experimented with another approach using an online service called Zoom.

It did work on a 20 second test shot.

I recorded and uploaded to You Tube.

From You Tube I can embed on a blog or website.

I can share a link in an email.

So that is a tiny but important technical step forward.

Almost everything I learned about technology was by trail and error.

So this is the normal and bumpy path for me.

Pray for me to soon complete and publish the initial short videos.

Those will lead to needed prayers and funds.

Meanwhile I need to focus on finding where I will sleep tonight.

Many years ago I lived in rooming houses and boarding houses.

I made some calls and there are some in the Dallas area.

They rent for 90 to 115 per week with a 65 dollar deposit.

There are no vacancies now but some are expected by the end of the week.

The missionary housing is not an option for a long while.

They will be doing trainings there for missionaries.

What I would like to do is raise 70 dollars to stay at the homeless shelter for 7 nights.

That would give some stability and peace of mind while making and promoting the videos.

Those videos will lead to income from strangers.

I will monitor for vacancies at the 3 rooming houses.

Also the Marriot connection could likely happen during that time.

The homeless shelter promised to refund money for nights not spent there.

Staying at the shelter might mean some sinus discomfort, but that is acceptable.

Maybe God will guide me to a garage apartment or couch surfing.

I am open to those options too.

Also I have a bill of only 33 dollars due on July 19 for the storage of my things.

Pray for that to be paid on time.

These are obviously difficult days for me.

I have learned much about taking it one day at a time.

I have witnessed God meet my needs right on time repeatedly.

God made a way for more than 1400 dollars to be raised in less than a month.

That was from just a few friends and relatives.

I need to make a way to reach out to strangers as soon as possible.

I will be casting a vision for the hope of the nonprofit and the game plan to accomplish it.

Here is the current fund raising goal:

70 dollars for 7 nights at the shelter

33 dollars for storage of my things

70 dollars for groceries, bus fare, fees and margin

173 dollars total

Hopefully within 7 days other options and income will be provided.

The fees come from Pay Pal and the ATM.

Most ATMs supply 20 dollar bills but some supply 10s.

So what would work best for me is to receive 30 dollars or more right away.

Then I will send an email update to say it arrived.

I will go check into the homeless shelter early.

I will leave there in the morning to make and publish the short videos.

I will continue to raise the money for this week too.

This kind of lifestyle keeps me out of the excessive planning mode.

I must take some action steps and adjust as needed.

Please pray for God to guide and provide.

At this time any donation will help much.

One person used Pay Pal to give 5 dollars and that funded a daily bus pass.

Normally I do not include the Pay Pal link in these updates.

But the timing is tight and I ask any person to give any amount.

UPDATE

Move out of the motel.

Missionary housing is not an option for a long time.

Rooming house is an option but no vacancy tonight.

I might sleep in homeless shelter tonight.

I solved technical problems to get short videos online.

Pray for me to soon make and publish appealing short videos.

PRAYERS

Jesus the Bible says that You pray to the Father for us. And I really want You to pray for me today and during the coming days. I admit I do not know how best to pray or how to best request prayers.

Jesus I thank You that You answer prayers based on Your amazing grace and tender mercies. I could never deserve Your favor. I come to You in humility and ask You to grant me Your best blessings.

Your Word says if I ask for wisdom You will give it generously. Well here I am asking for Your wisdom. May I be careful to recognize the wisdom You send to me and to apply it in ways that work.
